Community Safety Forum flyer is here
We would like to ask residents to please consider sending one person from your household to the Community Safety Forum on February 1, 2011 (7-8:30pm) at Rancho Cordova City Hall. We will discuss and hopefully decide on what needs to be done to increase safety with the entrance pillars on Mills Park Drive. Your voice really counts. We are a team in our neighborhood, and the only way we can accomplish things in our neighborhood is to work together. Let’s flex some neighborhood muscle and get this done. We will not put up with crime like this in our community!! Bottom line.
Additionally, if any residents would like to help pass out some flyers in the neighborhood, please let us know. You can get a printed flyer from us or you are welcome to download a flyer below and then print for a few neighbors.

White Rock Park Renovation Update
Ground broke at White Rock Park on August 20, 2010, and it looks like the Cordova Recreation and Park District has been busy getting things done. As you can see in the cell phone video below, the community center is being framed, asphalt has been laid for the parking lot, various areas are roped off for development, and there are portions of new concrete sidewalks installed.

This is huge news for our neighborhood. We have waited so long for this day and it is finally here. Congratulations residents and Rancho Cordovans. Thank you to so many residents who have attended meetings in the past couple of years and have been a part of our cordially direct effort to communicate our desires to the Park District. If you can make it, please plan to attend the ground-breaking ceremony for White Rock Park on August 20, 2010 at 10:30 am. See the image below for details. This is fantastic news!!!

Cordova Towne Sticker Preview
We have a ton of neighborhood stickers coming our way. They’ll be perfect to put on a mailbox, bumper, folder, trapper-keeper (do they still have those?) or window even. Here is a preview. Please note this image is pixelated because it was shrunk from a larger size. The final sticker will look something like this, but the font edges will be very clean.

If you are a resident and you want one, just let us know. We should have the stickers by August 21, 2010 during our next neighborhood event (painting on the Mather Field wall / replanting planters). Also, take a picture of where you put yours and we’ll put it up on our website.

Mather Field Tile Project Meeting
Next week on Wednesday March 17th, 2010 at 6:30pm, come meet in the American River North room at City Hall to discuss an exciting tile project for our neighborhood. The Rancho Cordova Leadership Class has selected our neighborhood for a community beautification project, and they’re reaching out to us to get something great done in our neighborhood. This project will take place near Croydon & Mather Field Road and should be fantasticfor the look of our neighborhood as well as any passersby in Rancho Cordova.
In a nuthshell, Rancho Cordova Leadership will present ideas for a tile or mural project to us, and so we need to pitch in our thoughts as well as talk about how to pull this off. The Leadership Class is looking for our input, ideas as well as hands-on assistance. If we all put in just a bit of effort (not much), we’ll be able to sincerely beautify this entrance corner to the subdivision.
A few years ago we painted the wall along Mather Field Road and this was a roaring success for our community and Rancho Cordova. Let’s take things to the next level now and do something special in our neighborhood and for our community.
Please consider sending someone from your household to this very important meeting if you are able. Your opinion and ideas count. Contact Stephanie DeShon of Rancho Cordova Leadership at 916-875-9627 or you can contact us through the website (click “contact”).
By the way, if it’s been a while since you’ve seen this video, give it a quick watch. Let’s remember the great things that have happened, are happening and will happen in our neighborhood.
