Rancho Night Posse
I received the following email from Shelly Blanchard, the Editor of the Grapevine. I thought it might resonate with some. I am thinking about doing this and wondered if any neighbors might like to participate also. Having charge of a golf court during the wee hours of the night…. can’t get much better than that, huh?
Let me know then if you are interested and maybe we can form a “Cordova Towne Posse”.
Rancho Cordova Fourth of July is looking for A FEW GOOD MEN.
Beginning June 28 through July 4, we are in need of responsible citizens who will participate in our “Rancho Night Posse” – patrolling Hagan Park from midnight until 6 a.m. to watch over the large amount of equipment, tents and other items which will be brought in for the 23rd Annual Fourth of July. We will happily provide golf carts, ‘Gators, hot coffee and snacks, flash lights and other gear deemed appropriate for this patrol. We are not requesting any sort of active confrontation should the situation arise, but rather help us provide “eyes and ears” in Hagan Park. A “Posse” of six during the early morning hours would be ideal, allowing for three pairs to roam the park and watch over things. The coverage period could be broken into shifts; or not. You decide! In exchange for your help, we will supply you with a t-shirt, passes for free parking on the Fourth of July and whatever else we can think of between now and then. We will publicly thank you for helping the Fourth of July be a success. Mostly, you will meet some of the nicest, most dedicated community volunteers you ever find anywhere. If you think you can “round up a Posse” of responsible citizens among your church congregation, workplace, civic organization or club, neighborhood association, or even wish to volunteer as an individual, please respond to this email with your contact information and what night(s) and hours you would be willing to provide coverage. Feel free to forward this to others you think may want to help. Thank you!
